Mermaid

“Incredible adventures of a mermaid on earth”

Alisa (Mariya Shalaeva) leaves the seaside and takes a train to Moscow, a grown woman who still believes she can make wishes come true. As a child she held that power close, and she carries it into a city of money, phones and men who want things quickly. Anna Melikyan loosely follows Andersen's fairy tale and plays Alisa's belief with a straight face, so the fantasy sits beside the ordinary like a second language.
