Mermaid Down

“They exist.”

A fishing crew hauls a mermaid out of the ocean and cuts off her tail. The Mermaid (Alexandra Bokova) is taken in by a stranger who seems to be helping, then locked in an institution for disturbed young women, where Dr. Beyer (Burt Culver) and the staff refuse to believe what she is. Jeffrey Grellman keeps the camera close to her in tight, confined rooms, so there is little to look at but her and the people who hold her.
