Metropolis

“Every epoch dreams its successor.”

Kenichi (Kei Kobayashi) comes to the futuristic city of Metropolis with his uncle, the detective Shunsaku Ban (Kosei Tomita), wanting to find out what lies behind the first robot built to look human. The robot is Tima (Yuka Imoto), and the city around them is already pulling apart under social conflict. Rintaro, working from Katsuhiro Otomo's script and Osamu Tezuka's old manga, draws the towers and streets with the heavy detail of a city that never stops building.
