Mi Vida Loca

“Mothers. Warriors. Sisters. Survivors.”

In Echo Park, a working-class neighborhood of Los Angeles, Sad Girl (Angel Aviles) and Mousie (Seidy López) have been best friends for as long as either can remember. Then Sad Girl gets pregnant by Ernesto (Jacob Vargas), the drug dealer Mousie is seeing, and the two stop speaking. Allison Anders follows several women in the neighborhood, and the film never lets Sad Girl stop being a mother and a girl at once.
