Mickybo and Me

“We all need heroes”

Mickybo (John Joe McNeill) wants to be Butch Cassidy, and he finds his Sundance in Jonjo (Niall Wright), a boy from the other side of the street in Belfast, 1970. Terry Loane sets their friendship against the first days of the Troubles, with the two boys running their own gang and chasing an outlaw plan to get to Australia. Mickybo keeps his eyes on the movie, though the grown-ups around him are talking about the street violence starting up around them.
