Midaq Alley

“The most awarded film in Mexican history.”

Nobody in this Mexico City alley can say why the same wants keep tangling the same neighbors. Abel (Bruno Bichir), a poor barber, is in love with Alma (Salma Hayek Pinault), who will become a high-class prostitute. Jorge Fons adapts Naguib Mahfouz's novel through Vicente Leñero's script, passing from one household to the next and giving each equal time.
