Middle of the Night

“For every girl who was ever involved with an older man!”

Jerry Kingsley (Fredric March), a wealthy garment manufacturer in his fifties, is left alone when his wife dies. Then he starts seeing Betty Preisser (Kim Novak), a divorced receptionist of 24, and his daughter, his sister and Betty's mother all line up against it. Delbert Mann, working from Paddy Chayefsky's own play, treats the gap in their ages as a plain fact, since each of them wants someone to be there at night.
