In 1960 London, Kit Preston (Doris Day) is newly married to Anthony (Rex Harrison) when the threatening phone calls begin. A stranger's voice tells her she will soon be murdered. David Miller keeps the story close around her, and she finds it hard to make anyone believe what she is hearing, her husband and Aunt Bea (Myrna Loy) included, with the receiver in her hand.
