Midway

“One battle turned the tide of war.”

Lieutenant Dick Best (Ed Skrein), a Navy dive-bomber pilot, flies into the first six months of the Pacific war, from Pearl Harbor to the island of Midway. On the ground, Rear Admiral Edwin Layton (Patrick Wilson) and Admiral Chester Nimitz (Woody Harrelson) work to read the enemy's next move. Roland Emmerich keeps cutting between cockpit and command room, and Best's wife, Anne (Mandy Moore), waits through each mission for him to come home.
