Miller's Crossing

Tom Reagan (Gabriel Byrne) is the trusted advisor to a political boss in a 1929 city, a man who talks little and keeps his hat close. He and his boss both fall for Verna (Marcia Gay Harden), and the friendship starts to come apart. Joel Coen sets a rival gang across the table, and Tom has his position, his boss's favor, and his own skin at stake.
