Maggie Fitzgerald (Hilary Swank), a waitress with nothing to lose, walks into Frankie Dunn's (Clint Eastwood) gym and asks him to train her as a boxer. Frankie has spent decades in the corner, watching other people's dreams, and he's wary of her hunger, but he begins to coach her anyway.
