(1992)Directed by Jūzō Itami124 minComedy, Crime
“The gangster comedy that shook up the Japanese mob.”

The Hotel Europa wants a contract to host a summit of important foreign officials, and the gangsters who have settled into its lobby are standing in the way. Mahiru Inoue (Nobuko Miyamoto), a lawyer who knows how to deal with the Yakuza, is brought in to clear them out, and Jūzō Itami has her take them on with her voice and a lot of paperwork. If the hotel fails, the summit goes elsewhere and its staff are left to face the gangsters alone.
