“This Story Has Never Ended.”

In present-day Osaka, Nishi (Koji Imada) is a struggling young manga artist who still carries a torch for his childhood sweetheart Myon (Sayaka Maeda). One run-in with the Japanese mafia sends him to heaven and back, then into a stranger place where he is stuck. Masaaki Yuasa, in his first feature, throws every style of animation at the screen, and Nishi keeps chasing the girl he never got over.
