Minnesota Clay (Cameron Mitchell) walks out of a prison labor camp after years inside for a murder he did not commit, and someone withheld the evidence that would have cleared him. He wants that man, though his eyesight is failing, and no one in the border town where Fox (Georges Rivière) waits knows it. Sergio Corbucci shoots it as a hard, dusty Western, with Clay's narrowing vision shaping how the camera looks at everything.
