Miracle at St. Anna

(2008)Directed by Spike Lee160 min · RDrama, War
“World War II had its heroes and its miracles.”

Tuscany, World War II: four soldiers of the all-black 92nd "Buffalo Soldier" Division, among them Aubrey Stamps (Derek Luke) and Sam Train (Omar Benson Miller), find themselves cut off in a small Italian village. Spike Lee tells it as a flashback, with Hector Negron (Laz Alonso) remembering it decades later in New York in the 1980s. The soldiers are far from their own lines, and the villagers are taking them in.
