Miral

“Is this the face of a terrorist?”

Miral (Freida Pinto) is a young Palestinian girl who grows up in the aftermath of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war and slowly finds herself pulled into the conflict around her. Julian Schnabel adapts Rula Jebreal's novel, following Miral from her orphaned childhood into her own coming of age, with Hiam Abbass as Hidi Husseini. Pinto carries the film's final stretch, a young woman standing where the history of her people meets her own life.
