Two years after the Miss United States pageant, FBI agent Gracie Hart (Sandra Bullock) is a celebrity, the bureau's public face in magazines and on television. Then the pageant's winner and its emcee, Stan Fields (William Shatner), are abducted, and Gracie goes back into the field with a new partner, Sam Fuller (Regina King), who has no patience for her. John Pasquin sets the two women side by side as they try to work out how to trust each other.
