Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day

“Every woman will have her day.”

Fired again, Guinevere Pettigrew (Frances McDormand), a strict governess who can't keep a position, is sent by her agency to the flat of Delysia LaFosse (Amy Adams), an American jazz singer in London on the eve of World War II. Bharat Nalluri drops her into a household where Delysia's love life and her career pull at her from every side, and she cannot decide which way to go. Pettigrew, who has never been wanted for anything but her discipline, finds herself needed.
