Mission to Mars

(2000)Directed by Brian De Palma114 min · PGScience Fiction, Adventure, Drama
“For centuries we've been looking for the origin of life on earth. We've been looking on the wrong planet.”

In 2020, the first manned expedition to Mars goes silent after its crew reports an unidentified structure on the surface. A rescue ship is sent to find survivors, with Jim McConnell (Gary Sinise) and Woody Blake (Tim Robbins) among its crew. Brian De Palma sends them across the void toward a disaster nobody can explain, and McConnell goes in carrying more than the mission asks of him.
