Mississippi Burning

(1988)Directed by Alan Parker128 min · RDrama, Crime, Mystery, Thriller
“1964. When America was at war with itself.”

Three civil rights workers have vanished in rural Mississippi in 1964, and no one in town will say what happened to them. FBI agents Alan Ward (Willem Dafoe), trained by the book, and Rupert Anderson (Gene Hackman), a former small-town sheriff, are sent to find them, and they disagree on how. Alan Parker's film shows a town held together by silence, where keeping quiet is the thing everyone agrees on.
