Mister Magoo's Christmas Carol

Mr. Magoo (Jim Backus), the squinting, famously nearsighted old man, has landed the lead in a Broadway musical of Dickens's *A Christmas Carol*. On stage he becomes Ebenezer Scrooge, a miser who wants his money counted and his door shut, until three spirits arrive one Christmas Eve. Abe Levitow directs this 1962 UPA special, and Backus plays Scrooge as grumbling, stubborn and blind to nearly everything around him.
