Mistress America

“From Strangers to Sisters.”

Tracy Fishko (Lola Kirke) is a college freshman in New York who has found the place lonelier than she expected. She calls her future stepsister, Brooke Cardinas (Greta Gerwig), a talker with a head full of schemes, and lets herself be pulled into them. Noah Baumbach and Gerwig, who wrote it together, build the film on how a person you barely know can start to feel like the only one who sees you.
