“Brute Force With a Badge”

Mitchell (Joe Don Baker) is a rumpled, hard-headed police detective who ignores his superiors' orders and has little patience for paperwork or politeness. His case sends him after two drug runners, and behind them a large syndicate run by James Arthur Cummings (Martin Balsam). Andrew V. McLaglen shoots the chase with the grainy, hurried look of a 1970s crime picture, keeping the camera close on a cop who never slows down.
