“They didn't take orders...They took over.”

In 1917 New York, four friends run the streets as small-time hoods: Charlie "Lucky" Luciano (Christian Slater), Meyer Lansky (Patrick Dempsey), Bugsy Siegel (Richard Grieco) and Frank Costello (Costas Mandylor). Michael Karbelnikoff follows them toward 1931, as they climb into organized crime and into the circle of Arnold Rothstein (F. Murray Abraham). Luciano carries most of the weight, a young man learning how much his friends will cost him.
