Moby Dick

(1956)Directed by John Huston115 minAdventure, Drama
“The man – The whale – The vengeance – The mightiest adventure ever seen!”

The Pequod leaves New Bedford in 1841 with a crew that has not been told where its captain means to take them. Ishmael (Richard Basehart) signs on as a common hand under Ahab (Gregory Peck), who lost a leg to a white whale and wants it dead. John Huston keeps the voyage grim and slow, and Starbuck (Leo Genn) sees that a hunt like this could cost the ship and everyone aboard.
