“Call her mad, call her a monster, just make sure you call her once a week!”

Clay Dwyer (Mark Thomas Miller) is a mild young man in Los Angeles whose mother, Emily (Jeanne Bates), has taken a drifter named Nestor Duvalier (Brion James) into her spare room. Animal-style killings are turning up across the city, and Lt. Hendrix (Art Evans) is working them. Patrick Rand plays the whole thing flat, and the film turns on Clay and Emily, a son and the mother he is trying to keep safe.
