“What are you really worth?”

Oakland in 2002: the Athletics have half the budget of rival teams and a roster full of players nobody wants. Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) hires Peter Brand (Jonah Hill), a Yale economics student who sees value where scouts see waste, and they build a team on numbers instead of instinct. What matters most is not whether they win, but whether Billy and Peter can trust each other when the old guard pushes back.
