The four Marx Brothers want one thing in 1931: passage to America, and none of them has a ticket. Groucho (Groucho Marx), Harpo (Harpo Marx), Chico (Chico Marx), and Zeppo (Zeppo Marx) slip aboard an ocean liner and get tangled up with gangsters, including J.J. "Big Joe" Helton (Rockliffe Fellowes). Norman Z. McLeod directs the first Marx picture built on an original script, and its whole idea is that nobody can be kept in line.
