Monsieur Aznavour

Charles Aznavour (Tahar Rahim) grows up poor in Paris, the son of Armenian immigrants, and already has his eye on the stage. His early partner Pierre Roche (Bastien Bouillon) and a glimpse of Edith Piaf (Marie-Julie Baup) point him toward the singer he wants to become, and the film follows him from Paris to New York. Mehdi Idir and Grand Corps Malade, who wrote it together, keep the long climb in close view, with Rahim carrying every year of it.
