Monsieur Hulot's Holiday

“It's laugh-vacation time!”

A seaside resort fills up for the summer in 1953 France, its guests settling into hotel rooms and deck chairs. Monsieur Hulot (Jacques Tati) arrives among them, pipe in his mouth, and his presence sets off one small catastrophe after another, involving dogs, boats and firecrackers. Tati watches from a distance as Hulot tries to enjoy his holiday, and the vacationers around him, including Martine (Nathalie Pascaud), want only a quiet week.
