Monsieur Ibrahim
Momo (Pierre Boulanger), a Jewish teenager in 1960s Paris, wants out of the dark apartment he shares with his sullen, depressed father (Gilbert Melki). He finds a kind of company down the street, at the small grocery of Monsieur Ibrahim (Omar Sharif), an elderly Muslim who sits behind his counter and watches the neighborhood. François Dupeyron fills the shop with narrow shelves and cramped aisles, and Ibrahim sits among them, patient and unhurried.
