Monty Python's The Meaning of Life

“It took God six days to create the heavens and the earth...and Monty Python ninety minutes to screw it up.”

The film opens in a staid London insurance company, where the office floor turns into a pirate ship before anyone has finished their tea. Terry Jones directs the Python troupe through a run of vignettes, each man playing a string of roles: National Health doctors after a liver, a glutton who vomits with great ambition. Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Terry Gilliam and Jones himself keep every straight face fixed on what life is for.
