Moon Over Parador

“He's not the first actor to impersonate a president... but he may be the last.”

In 1988, the Caribbean country of Parador is hosting a film shoot, and Jack Noah (Richard Dreyfuss), a little-known actor, is down in the heat doing small parts. When the country's dictator dies, the dictator's right-hand man, Roberto Strausmann (Raúl Juliá), offers Jack a role he cannot turn down: play the dead man. Paul Mazursky puts Jack in a white uniform and sends him out onto the balcony, over the waiting crowd.
