Moonlighting
Four Polish workmen land in London on a job that does not exist on paper, hired cheap to renovate a house for a government official who lives there. Nowak (Jeremy Irons) is the foreman, and he alone speaks English, so the men depend on him for every word, every shop, every rule. Skolimowski sets this against the Solidarity protests at home, and the film is about how far a man will go to keep power over people who have no one else to turn to.
