On the Aegean coast of Turkey, fourteen-year-old Gaza (Hayat Van Eck) lives in a house that fills with strangers waiting to cross to Europe. His father Ahad (Ahmet Mümtaz Taylan) runs the smuggling, giving the refugees a place to sleep, little food, and no say in when they leave. Onur Saylak adapts Hakan Günday's novel around a boy who dreams of getting out, and who is learning every day to do what his father does.
