“Who is this woman who scorns a hundred men...to give her love to a Devil-May-Care Soldier?”

Mogador, Morocco, in the late 1920s, where the Foreign Legion keeps a garrison and the cabaret keeps its customers. Amy Jolly (Marlene Dietrich), a Parisian singer with no illusions left, takes the stage and draws the eye of Tom Brown (Gary Cooper), a Legionnaire with a name for chasing women. Josef von Sternberg sets a wealthy admirer, La Bessiere (Adolphe Menjou), against him, and Amy has to decide whether to trust a man who has never stayed.
