Mortal Thoughts

“Something terrible happened that night. Something everyone wanted to talk about. Something no one was telling the truth about.”

Cynthia Kellogg (Demi Moore) wants one thing from the police interview room, and that is to be believed about her best friend Joyce (Glenne Headly). Joyce's husband James (Bruce Willis) is a drunk who steals from her and has promised Cynthia she's next, and he bleeds to death after someone cuts his throat. Alan Rudolph tells it in flashbacks while Detective Woods (Harvey Keitel) keeps asking, and the two women's friendship is the thing he keeps pressing on.
