Charlie Mortdecai (Johnny Depp), a dissolute British art dealer, inhabits a world of country estates and black-tie evenings where money flows freely. When a stolen painting surfaces, he is pulled into the hunt, aided by his wife Johanna (Gwyneth Paltrow) and pursued by Inspector Alistair Martland (Ewan McGregor). Mortdecai survives on charm and elaborate schemes that rarely work.
