Moscow on the Hudson

“Vladimir Ivanoff walks into a department store to buy blue jeans, walks out with a girl friend, an immigration lawyer and a buddy. His life and theirs will never be the same again.”

Nobody in the Russian circus touring New York sees it coming, least of all Vladimir Ivanoff (Robin Williams), the saxophonist who walks out of Bloomingdale's and into a new country. A security guard, Lionel Witherspoon (Cleavant Derricks), takes him in, and Lucia Lombardo (María Conchita Alonso) works the perfume counter. Paul Mazursky follows him through odd jobs, a musician who has traded everything familiar for the chance to play.
