Mother Küsters Goes to Heaven

In a Frankfurt kitchen, Emma Küsters (Brigitte Mira) is making stew and arguing with her daughter-in-law over whether to add canned sausages. Then word comes that her husband Ernst, a worker at a soap factory, has killed the personnel director and himself. Rainer Werner Fassbinder follows Emma into the days after, a woman of habit with no idea how to be anyone else.
