Mother Mary

Mother Mary (Anne Hathaway), a pop star at the height of her fame, wants to reclaim the person she was before the industry remade her. When Sam Anselm (Michaela Coel), the costume designer from her early days, reappears in her life, the reunion pulls at threads Mother Mary thought were buried. Lowery builds the film around two women circling each other, the past surfacing in a single thread of fabric, a seam coming undone.
