Mountains May Depart

The story begins in 1999 and jumps ahead twice, to 2014 and then 2025, following one woman through all three. Shen Tao (Zhao Tao) is courted by two men, the coal-mine worker Liang Jangjung (Liang Jingdong) and the businessman Zhang Jinsheng (Zhang Yi). Jia Zhangke gives each decade its own look, and the last one belongs to Tao's son Zhang Daole (Dong Zijian).
