“Big league. Big mouth. Big time.”

Stan Ross (Bernie Mac) walked off his team mid-season years ago, certain he had already collected his 3,000th hit. Then a records correction says he finished a few short, and at 47 he signs back on to the roster to get them, with sportswriter Mo Simmons (Angela Bassett) watching him do it. Charles Stone III stages the comeback in packed ballparks, letting the crowd noise and the dugout banter carry the comedy.
