Mr. & Mrs. Bridge

“Divided by time and tradition. United by love and hope. The story of an unforgettable family.”

Walter Bridge (Paul Newman) is a lawyer in Kansas City who works long days, keeps his feelings to himself, and expects his household to run the way he has arranged it. His wife India (Joanne Woodward) tries to keep the family steady as their children grow up and begin to want lives he never planned for them. James Ivory sets the story during the Second World War, when the values Walter holds start to wear against the ones his children bring home.
