Raja (Akshay Kumar) is a slacker with no job and no plans, until he falls for Shalu (Juhi Chawla Mehta), the daughter of a wealthy man. To marry her he has to win over her father, Badri Prasad (Kader Khan). David Dhawan fills the film with loud comic scheming, and the romance between Raja and Shalu holds steady underneath it, a first love that neither of them is willing to give up.
