Mr. Jones

“The truth can't be hidden forever”

Gareth Jones (James Norton) is a young Welsh journalist in 1933 who has already interviewed Hitler and now wants to know how Stalin's Soviet Union is paying for its factories and its grain. Agnieszka Holland follows him from Moscow, where Walter Duranty (Peter Sarsgaard) and the other correspondents say nothing, into Ukraine, with secret service men watching every step. In the villages he walks past, the famine has already come, and Jones keeps going.
