Mr. Klein

(1976)Directed by Joseph Losey123 min · PGMystery, Drama, Thriller
“In the nightmare labyrinth of the Occupation”

Paris, 1942, under the Occupation, and Robert Klein (Alain Delon) makes a comfortable living buying art cheaply from Jewish families who need to sell and leave. When a newspaper addressed to him arrives by chance, he learns that another Robert Klein, apparently Jewish, shares his name and address, and that the police may confuse the two. Joseph Losey stages the search for this double through cold, formal rooms, so the dread settles in before Klein admits it.
