“Lucky Mr. Peabody...Everybody thought he was DREAMING!”

Arthur Peabody (William Powell), a middle-aged Bostonian on a Caribbean holiday with his wife Polly (Irene Hervey), keeps hearing wordless singing from an uninhabited rock in the bay. He goes out fishing to find it and hauls up a mermaid (Ann Blyth). Irving Pichel follows him as he carries her home to the bathtub, where Polly sees only a large fish, and Arthur, who cannot get a word out of her, is the one who falls in love.
