Mr. Sardonicus

Sir Robert Cargrave (Ronald Lewis), a London doctor known for his work on paralysis, wants to do right by Maude (Audrey Dalton), the woman he once loved, and so he accepts a summons to the castle at Gorslava in 1880. Baron Sardonicus (Guy Rolfe) greets him in a mask, demands a cure for his disfigured face, and warns that Maude will pay if the treatment fails. William Castle keeps the doctor in the baron's house, bound by a promise to a woman who is no longer his.
