Mr. Wu

(1927)Directed by William Nigh91 minDrama, Romance
“SHE WAS GUILTY OF LOVE AND THE UNWRITTEN CODE OF THE EAST CRIED FOR VENGEANCE!”

Mr. Wu (Lon Chaney), a Chinese mandarin, wants nothing more than to see his daughter Nang Ping (Renée Adorée) safe and honored, and he learns she is pregnant by Basil Gregory (Ralph Forbes), a young Englishman. William Nigh shot this 1927 silent drama with Chaney in two roles, Wu and his own grandfather. Wu's grief hardens into a plan for revenge on the man who seduced her, and Chaney's face stays still.
